Center for Youth Dialogue (CYD) was officially registered in 2014 under Zanzibar's Societies Act Number 6 of 1995. CYD is also registered with Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS).
CYD searches for collective efforts to empower, support and advocate for youth development in Zanzibar and around the globe.
The main goal of the Amani Visiwani project project was to improve community engagement especially of at-risk youth on special civic engagement program as a preventive measure from engaging into violent behaviors
CurrentThe aim of the Data Protection and Privacy Law project is to support process for establishment of the Zanzibar Data Privacy and Protection Law to protect citizens’ information
CurrentThe main goal of the Dumisha Amani kwa Maendeleo Endelevu project is to empower young people especially women and girls to actively engage in peace
CurrentSince its establishment CYD has been welcoming local and international students to engage with our activities through internship and volunteering opportunities. Students from Zanzibar University (ZU), University of Dar es Salaam’s Center for Foreign Relations and local vocational schools in Zanzibar as well as international students from George Washington University (USA), London Metropolitan University (UK), St. Lawrence University (USA) and Adelphi University (USA) has also been given internship opportunities at CYD. Currently, a second batch of 20 Zanzibari students from local universities in Tanzania are enrolled in the internship program at CYD .
